GRAMMY award-winning musician and renowned bassist John Clayton shares an evening of music in conjunction with the Museum of Making Music’s LOW exhibition.
A multi-talented musician, John Clayton is a brilliant bassist. His bowed solos are exquisite and he is also a top-notch arranger and composer. With a GRAMMY on his shelf and eight additional nominations, artists such as Diana Krall, Paul McCartney, Regina Cater, Gladys Night all vie for a spot on his crowded calendar. To help celebrate all things bass, the concert also includes Nico Abondolo on bass and Tamir Hendelman on piano.
A protégé of Ray Brown, Clayton picked up important early experience playing with Count Basie’s Orchestra for two years. He has co-led the Clayton Brothers as well as put together the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra with younger brother Jeff Clayton and drummer Jeff Hamilton.
