John Clayton, his brother Jeff and drummer / co-leader Jeff Hamilton are old hands in the trade who have had long and fruitful experience with their own band, but also in orchestras such as the Doc Severinsen Orchestra, the Count Basie Band, the Gene Harris / Philip Morris Superband, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra under Murray McEachern and Woody Herman can look back. Hardly a major jazz star of the USA, who would not have played with any of the three: Ray Brown, Monty Alexander, Bud Shank, Laurindo Almeida, Henry Mancini, Frank Sinatra, Mel Tomé, Lena Horne or Sammy Davis jr. – to name just a few.
