Boise Jazz Society Bruce Forman Trio Masterclass

The Boise Jazz Society is pleased to present the Bruce Forman Trio with John Clayton and Jeff Hamilton for a special “informance” masterclass. This unique learning opportunity occurs Monday, March 20th, from 4-6:30 pm in the Morrison Center Recital Hall.
From 4-5 pm, the group will perform a selection from their touring show which is an homage to Barney Kessel, Ray Brown and Shelly Manne. Then, from 5:15-6:30 pm, the group will discuss group communication, approaches to the guitar trio, the styles of Barney Kessel, Ray Brown and Shelly Manne and how they relate to today’s jazz playing.
This event is free and open to the public, though mainly geared toward current Boise State Music students.
